A love story by Cheryl.

Dan and I grew up only a few kilometers apart, and our friends even dated each other, but fate only lead us to meet in January 2012.  Dan’s job meant that the day after we met he was to fly to Melbourne, where he worked for the next 9 months.  We spent  a lot of time speaking over the phone (and still do) and flying between Sydney and Melbourne.

Dan still spends a lot of time away for work, so our time together when he is home is very special and we try to make the most of it by getting out and about doing the things we love.  We both love the outdoors and enjoying life… although I don’t think I’ll ever share his love for triatholons!  I have however managed to get him off his motor bike and on to a horse!

Dan took me up the the Blue Mountains this year for my birthday.  My present included horse riding, wine tasting and a sunset over Echo Point, complete with plastic champagne flutes, sparkling wine from a local vinyard and ”Dippits” purchased from Aldi (in lieu of cheese and crackers).  It was quite sweet and romantic, however a proposal was the last thing on my mind when Dan pulled out a poem he’d written which started out with “I’m attracted to you like a bug to the light …. “.  After the initial shock (it was a genuine surprise) I of course said yes.

Having our engagement shoot in the mountains seemed obvious since it was where we got engaged – as well as being such a beautiful and relaxing place.

We are getting married in January 2014 and very much looking forward to spending the rest of our lives together.

together.
